Privacy & Health-Data Policy
Effective 5 July 2026 · Version 2026-07-05
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how Medical Report Analyser (“we”, “us”, the “app”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information — including sensitive health data such as the lab reports you upload and the values extracted from them. By creating an account you give your explicit, informed consent to the processing described here. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or upload reports.
2. The data we process
- Account data: your name, email address, and (optionally) mobile number, date of birth, and sex.
- Health records: the medical/lab report files you upload and the structured values, reference ranges, patient identifiers, and dates we extract from them.
- Derived insights: plain-language explanations, health scores, trends, and diet plans generated from your reports.
- Usage & billing data: credits, purchases, and product-analytics events (e.g. “analysis started”). We do not store your card details — payments are handled by our payment processor.
3. How we use your data
We use your data solely to provide and improve the service: to read and explain your reports, show trends across reports for the same patient, generate diet plans, maintain your account and credit balance, and provide support. We do not sell your data or use your health records for advertising.
4. Whose records we store — and whose we never store
This is important and required by law. We only store medical records that belong to you, the account holder — matched against the name on your account. Reports you upload for another person (a family member, friend, or anyone else) are analysed for that session only and are never saved to your account. Medical data may only be stored with the consent of the individual it belongs to, so when you upload someone else's report you confirm at sign-up that you have their authorization and consent — but we still do not persist it. If we cannot confidently tell whether an uploaded report is yours, we ask you directly before storing anything.
5. View-only vs. stored analysis
You control whether a report is saved. A view-only analysis is held only in memory for the duration of your session and is discarded when you leave or refresh — it is not written to your account. A stored analysis (only ever your own records) is saved to your account so you can revisit it and unlock trend analysis over time. In both cases your consent under this policy applies to the processing involved.
6. Storage, security & retention
Stored reports and account data are held in access-controlled databases protected by row-level security, so each user can only reach their own records. Analysis is performed server-side and API keys are never exposed to your browser. We retain stored data until you delete it or close your account, after which it is removed (subject to short-lived backups and any records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons).
7. Third parties who process data for us
To run the service we share the minimum necessary data with infrastructure and AI providers acting on our instructions — including our database/authentication host and the language-model provider that performs report extraction and explanation. These providers process your data only to deliver their part of the service.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data and stored reports at any time from within the app, and you can withdraw consent by deleting your reports or closing your account. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and some features (analysis, trends, diet plans) cannot function without the data they rely on.
9. Not medical advice
Medical Report Analyser is an informational tool. Its explanations, scores, and plans are not a diagnosis and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always discuss your results with a qualified clinician.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the version above and ask you to re-consent the next time you sign in.
